BAM are currently constructing their own student accommodation project on the former Beamish and Crawford Brewery site which is located within the historic medieval core of Cork City. The project, designed by award winning architects Scott Tallon Walker, will comprises 413 student bedrooms within four adjoining linear buildings, each of which will be linked by an external Precast core providing stair and lift access. Concast are providing Precast solutions for the three external cores which will link the four buildings. Each external core will be finished in exposed grey concrete requiring the Precast wall panels to have a high degree of accuracy to maintain symmetrical construction joints and consistency of colour throughout. An additional fourth Precast core will be located internally within one of the buildings. The cores will rise to 28m in height providing access to eight levels of accommodation.
