Joint developers MACE and Edinburgh University instructed main contractor Graham to redevelop the former NHS Lothian headquarters to provide 318 student bed spaces set out in both studio and cluster accommodation. This high profile project required the retention of the former hospital’s Victorian exterior along with the construction of three 3-5 storey new-build blocks arranged around a central courtyard. Concast provided a Precast cross wall frame solution for the three new blocks where a high quality finish was required to all exposed internal Precast which was given only a spray paint finish. On completion of this project Concast were promptly instructed by Graham to provide a substantial Precast fame solution for a new multi-storey car park for Huntingdon District Council.
