Royal Canal Park is a substantial Dublin City residential scheme located a short distance east of Dublin’s Phoenix Park. Developer Ballymore Homes instructed Concast to complete both Phase 1 and Phase 2 utilising a total Precast frame solution to construct approximately 950 residential units and approximately 4,000 sqm of commercial including retail, office and leisure accommodation. Phase 1 was designed in four courtyard blocks with accommodation predominantly comprising four to six storey apartments with an element of three storey terraced townhouses. Phase 2 was design as a town centre set out in a crescent with building heights up to eight storeys. Concast provided a full Precast solution for both phases with a predominately cross wall design incorporating transfer beams to allow for open plan commercial floor plate layouts under overhead cross wall residential. Concast also provided exterior acrylic render coated wall panels in a variety of colours throughout both phases. Basement car parking was completed utilising Precast columns and transfer beams to facilitate a substantial transfer slab at grade.
