41st Irish Concrete Society Awards

Our Precast frame solution for the Ballinteer Educate Together National School is a finalist in the “Main Award” category this Saturday 27th April at the 41st Irish Concrete Society Awards. BAM were the main contractor on this project and it’s great to be sharing a table with their team at this prestigious awards and dinner evening. Best of luck to all the finalists!

The new school is a two-storey building totalling approximately 4,426 sqm of accommodation including 16 mainstream classrooms, a two-base Autism centre, along with ancillary teacher and pupil facilities. The construction project also included a separate 1,207 sqm two-storey indoor sports hall. The overall construction project was delivered by main contractor BAM under the Department of Education’s School Building Programme. BAM choose Concast to provide a total Precast frame solution for the new school and separate indoor sports facility. Concast’s cross wall school frame solution was designed in-house utilising 3D modelling. Individual Precast elements included; beams; columns; capping slabs; flooring; stair flights and landings; along with wall panels and wall beams. The Precast indoor sports hall frame solution included; bespoke 9 m tall columns with an integral corbel detail to support roof trusses; 200 mm thick full height wall panels between columns to the perimeter of the building; and 200 mm internal wall panels creating storage and changing rooms.
